Evaporator approach = leaving chilled-water temperature − evaporator saturation temperature.

Assumptions

Both temperatures represent the same operating condition. The entered saturation temperature is assumed correct.

Limitations

This calculator does not verify sensor accuracy, refrigerant pressure accuracy, refrigerant selection, load, flow, or root cause. Approach alone does not prove fouling, charge problems, flow problems, or sensor problems.
