Explanation: Evaporator tons estimate how much heat the chiller is removing from the chilled-water loop. The calculator first finds the chilled-water temperature difference, then applies the standard water-side heat-transfer formula. This result is useful for checking actual load, comparing against design tonnage, and reviewing whether the chiller is being loaded as expected.

Note: This calculator assumes water. If the system contains glycol, the heat-transfer factor changes and the result should be corrected for the actual fluid concentration.
