YORK Nitrogen Pressure Hold Time
Determine the required nitrogen pressure-test hold time from YORK vessel diameter and length.
Supported source range: 2.0–24.0 ft. Length is rounded to the nearest 0.1 ft per YORK.
Required hold time
If there is no pressure loss, proceed to evacuation. If pressure drops, proceed to leak testing.
Procedure notes
Before this hold test, YORK directs an initial evacuation to 5 mmHgA, nitrogen vapor charging only, and pressure buildup to the DWP on the vessel data plates.

Procedure notes
Use a high-resolution analog gauge with 2 psi increments and a 3 in. (76.2 mm) or larger dial. Start at 5 mmHgA—do not go below it. Charge vapor only to the selected initial pressure, add dry nitrogen to the final pressure, verify trace gas at the vapor service valve, then test joints and factory welds with a suitable detector. YORK also provides tube/waterbox follow-up steps.
